Learning to Touch Type in 7 Days

> ASDF_JKL;...

I have typed "incorrectly" my whole life. I use 2 fingers on my left hand and 1 on my right. I look at the keyboard constantly.

The Challenge: Learn strict "Home Row" touch typing. No looking down. 1 hour practice daily on Keybr.com.

Day 1: The Frustration

Fingers on A S D F and J K L ;

It felt like trying to write with my toes. My brain knew where "T" was, but my index finger refused to go there without visual confirmation.

WPM (Words Per Minute): 12. (My normal hunt-and-peck speed is 65).

Day 3: The Pinky Problem

I realized my pinky fingers are weak and useless. Pressing "P" or "Q" required a massive effort. My hands actually cramped.

Day 7: The Breakthrough

Suddenly, on Day 6, I stopped thinking about letters and started thinking about words. My fingers just... went there.

Conclusion

In 7 days, I surpassed my old speed (65 WPM -> 72 WPM). But more importantly, I can look at the screen while I type. My neck hurts less. I feel like a hacker.

If you hunt and peck, you are wasting milliseconds every day that add up to years of your life. Learn to type.
